Why Inflate With Nitrofill?
Compressed air is your tire's worst enemy. Air is about 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% other. Nitrogen is inert, non combustible and non corrosive. Oxygen, on the other hand, is immensely destructive to rubber and other tire materials. As soon as a tire is manufactured and exposed to air, the effects of "oxidation" begin to deteriorate the rubber. Over time it loses its elasticity and strength, just like an old rubber band you've probably found around your home. This same process occurs in tires inflated with air as the oxygen attacks the rubber molecules, working from the inside out, until the oxygen, and it destructive properties, permeates the tire structure and ultimately the tread.

No More Inspection Stickers!

Electronic
vehicle inspections will mean vehicles that undergo an emissions or
safety inspection on or after Nov. 1, 2008, will no longer receive a
windshield sticker. After that date, the vehicle's inspection will be
synchronized to be due the same month as the vehicle's registration
renewal each year. Synchronizing
each vehicle's inspection and registration dates is expected to
increase compliance with the state's inspection program and help

part of the new program, safety and emissions inspection stations will
enter inspection results into the DMV vehicle registration database.
Vehicle owners will be able to renew their registration only after
their vehicle has been inspected. At the program's start, nearly 7,000
safety and emissions inspection stations will be connected to the
database. The cost of safety-only inspections has increased from $9.10 to $13.60. The cost of emissions inspections remains $30. More information about the new inspection program can be found on the agency's Web site at www.ncdot.gov/dmv under "No More Sticker!" or by calling 1-888-999-3044. |
