Welcome
to The Trophy Room! The staff of Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram
already knows that our vehicles are award-winning...and we'd like to
share that with you. Below you'll find information about just a few of
the awards that Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles have been winning
lately....from the Ram 1500's 15+ awards for design and
performance...to the Jeep Wrangler's "Best Resale Value" award from
Kelly Blue Book...to the Chrysler Town & Country's multiple consecutive R.L. Polk Owner Loyalty Awards...and the 2011 Dodge Charger's "Best Interior" award from Wards, the awards just keep
rolling in!
"We were impressed at how much
more refined the 2012 Charger is from its previous generation. The interior is sophisticated, the exterior design is striking, and it is
thrilling to drive. The Charger
definitely earned its place on this
very exclusive All-Star list."
--Jean Jennings, president and editor-in-chief of Automobile Magazine
"The new Charger is more polished in style and execution..." "Just because the Charger is now available with highfalutin options like an eight- speed automatic transmission and a Nappa leather interior doesn't mean that it has forgotten its role as the quintessential un-front-wheel- drive mainstream American sedan."
The all-new 2011 Dodge Durango offers consumers 45 safety and security features, including standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which delivers three security featueres to improve overall vehicle stability both on- and off-road: electronic roll mitigation (ERM), which reacts and applies brakes during extreme situtations, and Hill-Start Assist (HSA), which works with standard Trailer-Sway Control (TSC) to enhance off-road and towing capabilities.
"Reviewers love the Ram 1500's ride, handling, power and interior, even on less expensive trim levels. The Ram 1500 offers many convenient cargo solutions, such as storage cubbies underneath the rear seats on Crew Cab models. Other models offer the RamBox, lockable storage containers built into the truck bed above the wheel housings."

NADAguides, a leading online provider of vehicle pricing and information, names the 2011 Chrysler 300 the NADAguides Car of the Month for July 2011. The 2011 Chrysler 300 was selected based on the vehicle's sleek new elegant design and overall appearance, combined with ample space, smooth driving performance, a plethora of intuitive technology features and an extensive list of safety features which scored the 300 a "Top Safety Pick" from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The 2011 Chrysler Town & Country ranked highest in initial quality in
the minivan segment and the 2011 Dodge Challenger ranked highest in the
mid-size sporty car segment.
ent for our
employees and supplier partners to achieve these initial quality
results when so many of our 2011 model year launches coincided with the
IQS survey period."As explained by Jeffrey Zurschmeide, president of the Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA), his part of the country presents a tough challenge for most SUVs: "In the Pacific Northwest, we can go from rain-soaked city streets up to the snowy mountains in about an hour. -- So we look for an SUV that's comfortable and capable in all kinds of situations."
And that's exactly what they found in the new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee , "overwhelmingly" choosing it as this year's "Northwest Sport Utility of the Year" while also naming Jeep's flagship their "Best Off-Road SUV," too.
It's a particularly notable honor, because NWAPA members don't try to base their decisions on separate test drives that might have occurred weeks or months in the past. Instead, the group brought 20 of today's top SUVs and crossovers to Snoqualmie, Wash., for a grueling one-day evaluation of the vehicles' hill-climbing and descent abilities, ride comfort, low-range handling, stability handling, emergency braking maneuvers and more--all areas in which the new Grand Cherokee excels, thanks to its comprehensive redesign for the current model year. Today's Grand Cherokee offers three 4×4 systems, the new Jeep Selec-Terrain system with five different terrain settings, an advanced air-suspension system, improved fuel economy, a world-class interior, and more than 45 safety and security features, and it's all wrapped up by eye-catching new sheet metal.
"The Pacific Northwest provides perhaps the widest variety of driving conditions in the country, so it's a perfect place for all of the driving attributes of the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee," said Mike Manley, president and CEO of Jeep. "We're especially pleased that the NWAPA's journalist members recognize Grand Cherokee's comfort and capability in all weather conditions, both on- and off-road.
More consumers are satisfied by the Chrysler lineup according to the AutoPacific's 15th annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards. AutoPacific recognized the automaker has having the "Top Popular Brand," signifying that more owners are satisfied by their new vehicle purchases.
In addition to improving 19 spots compared with the previous model year to win the "Top Popular Brand," the new 2011 Chrysler Town & Country and the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee were named winners in the "Minivan" and "Premium Mid-size SUV" categories, respectively.
"Vehicles that score highest in the Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are delivering value and satisfaction across a wide range of attributes, performing well in 48 separate categories that objectively measure the ownership experience." says George Peterson, President of AutoPacific. "The new Chrysler Town & Country and Jeep Grand Cherokee demonstrate that Chrysler's new approach to product execution is resonating with buyers."
For the current model year, every Chrysler brand vehicle is new or significantly refreshed, providing consumers with even more to love. Trucks are an extremely passion-inspiring and sometimes divisive subject at AutoWeek. We all have our preferences and tastes, and few vehicles are versatile yet distinctive enough to please our discerning editors. But this year, one stood out above all others for our first Best of the Best/Truck award: the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Perhaps no single vehicle symbolizes the reborn Chrysler more than this off-roader. It's capable, it builds on the long-held strength of the iconic brand, and in a new twist, it's downright luxurious. Our staff gave it consistent high marks for the interior, which has been redone with pleasing soft-touch materials yet still exudes a rugged demeanor.
The Grand Cherokee maintains its familiar appearance on the outside--it's still obviously the flagship Jeep--but now it's more sculpted on the sides and chiseled around the wheels. With a clearly evolutionary design, this new rock crawler looks similar to but sharper than its predecessors and stands out in the street.
Underhood, the Grand Cherokee is fortified with the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 making 290 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Angrier drivers can opt for the Hemi V8, which displaces 5.7 liters to the tune of 360 hp and 390 lb-ft, and not be disappointed.
For all of its power and luxury, this vehicle still hangs its hat on ability, which it has in spades. There are three four-wheel-drive options, and in low gear, the beast is nearly unstoppable. For the first time, the Grand Cherokee gets an independent rear suspension, and drive character is reinforced with a body that's 145 percent stiffer than its predecessor and has more responsive steering. The Jeep rides on a platform similar to that of the Mercedes-Benz M-class, one of the last vestiges of Chrysler's association with Daimler to make it to the road.
We ranked vehicles on a scale of one to five, with five being the highest. The design elements of the Grand Cherokee in particular scored high, and many editors drooled over the power and capability. The foibles of lesser trucks didn't stand up to our screening, but perfect-five ratings were common for the Jeep in many categories.
The Grand Cherokee is clearly a gem of a vehicle,
and with a base price of $30,995 and top-shelf models stickering for
more than $40,000, there's a choice for almost everyone. The Grand Cherokee--the most well-rounded,
handsome and brutally capable Jeep in years--won the top prize. This
might be a harbinger of things to come from the new Chrysler.

For the second year in a row, the Ram 1500 was honored by AUTOMOBILE Magazine and named a 2011 AUTOMOBILE Magazine All-Star.
"The Ram 1500 scored its second All-Star award in two
years by combining a tough-truck soul with the creature comforts of
a large family sedan," the editors said. "The
Ram's cabin excels in attention to detail. Instruments are
clearly marked, and the cup holders and storage locations are
bountiful. Crew cabs have in-floor bins, and the handy RamBox
option converts normally wasted bed-sidewall space into secure
storage lockers."
Both Ford and GM pickups were included in the AUTOMOBILE
Magazine tests.
According to the review by AUTOMOBILE Magazine Technical Editor Don Sherman:
Like most pickup-truck owners, we've spent the majority of our
miles in Rams without cargo in the bed or a trailer in tow. The
beauty of this beast is its ability to fly over tattered pavement
without the wonky humping and jumping that plagues leaf-spring
trucks. Add the 390-hp, 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine, and the Ram
performs a superhero routine.
Since its introduction in 2008 as an all-new 2009 model, the Ram 1500 has won dozens of major automotive awards, including many of the industry's most significant honors such as Strategic Vision's Total Quality Award (the highest Total Quality score of any truck in the 15-year history of the study) and the Texas Auto Writers Association Truck of Texas. It remains the most awarded Ram Truck ever.
In 2011, the Ram Truck brand continues to build on the Ram 1500.

The all-new 2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokee -- the premium icon of the Jeep brand -- has captured the prestigious "Four Wheeler of the Year" award. The award is given annually by the editors of Four Wheeler magazine -- a leading off-road enthusiast publication.
"The Grand Cherokee continues Jeep's tradition of building four-wheel drives that excel in harsh backcountry traditions," said Four Wheeler Editor Douglas McColloch. "The 5.7-liter V-8 offers ample horsepower throughout the power band; its tightly tuned unibody chassis and four-wheel independent suspension give it a sporty on-road ride; and the Jeep's new Selec-Terrain™ off-road driving mode and class-leading Hill-descent systems virtually eliminate guesswork when crawling through uneven and off-camber terrain. It's the most street-tuned, pavement-friendly version of this vehicle ever built. Overall, it's a highly deserving "Four Wheeler of the Year" winner for 2011."
To qualify for the competition, entries had to be entirely new or
have substantial mechanical revisions from a previous model year.
Testing was conducted over more than a thousand miles on a variety of
terrain, including pavement, gravel, dirt, sand, rocks and mud, at
elevations ranging from sea level to more than 9,000 feet.
"Capturing this prominent award from the respected editors at Four Wheeler magazine is a true honor and significant milestone for the Jeep brand and the all-new 2011 Grand Cherokee," said Mike Manley, President and CEO -- Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "The Four Wheeler award competition is a thorough, demanding test of a vehicle's performance and capability. This recognition reinforces the fact that the new-generation Grand Cherokee boasts a combination that no one can match: a new level of legendary, best-in-class capability, along with a premium on-road driving experience and a host of new innovative features."
The Jeep Grand Cherokee "Four Wheeler of the Year" award comes less than a year after the magazine's editors named the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon as the Best 4x4 vehicle of the 2000-2009 decade.

Editors of Decisive Auto magazine and a panel of 15 independent automotive journalists have chosen the all-new 2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokee as Decisive Media's "Urban Truck of the Year."
"While faithfully capturing the spirit of its predecessor, the 2011
Jeep Grand Cherokee is new and improved in every way," said Lyndon
Bell, Editor-in-chief -- Decisive Auto magazine. "The Jeep's
over-the-road dynamics easily rivals that of its competitors' less
capable crossover vehicles. Meanwhile, the Jeep is also perfectly
proficient at traversing any terrain. Luxurious interior appointments --
along with the fact that drivers aren't penalized into accepting a
lower trim level if they opt for the more fuel-efficient engine --
speaks volumes to the way Jeep's engineers and product planners
incorporated 21st century realities into America's most iconic SUV."
Before choosing Jeep's new premium SUV, the Urban Vehicle judging panel spent several months driving dozens of vehicles in a variety of North American urban settings. Consideration focused on several categories, including styling, practicality and attainability attributes of each vehicle.
"The 'Urban Truck of the Year' award reinforces the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee's broad appeal," said Mike Manley, President and CEO -- Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "Jeep is pleased that this panel of influential journalists has recognized that the new Grand Cherokee delivers the perfect blend of on-road refinement, superb craftsmanship, world-class design, improved fuel economy, innovative features, and legendary real-world capability."
The Urban Vehicles of the Year will be formally presented at the 15th Annual Urban Wheel Awards on January 9, 2011, leading into the North American International Auto Show activities.

The winners must perform well in 48 separate categories that objectively measure the ownership experience, says George Peterson, president of AutoPacific. "While the auto industry is showing signs of improvement, more than ever before, manufacturers need to be able to differentiate themselves. Proof of satisfied customers is as good as gold," Patterson said. "We've found that more than 25% of new car buyers are positively influenced by owner-based awards like the VSA when deciding on a new car or truck."
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ --
Four Wheeler magazine editors have named the Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon and Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon the Best 4x4 Vehicle of the Decade, while calling out the four-door Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon as the decade's most significant 4x4 vehicle.
"Jeep vehicles have earned many awards in the almost 70-year history of the iconic brand, but few have been as prestigious as these accolades from the editors at Four Wheeler magazine," said Mike Manley, President and CEO - Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is clearly the most capable production vehicle on the planet, and in four-door Unlimited form, families can enjoy the combination of capability, freedom, space and comfort that only Jeep can provide."
In recognizing the 2007-present Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon as the Best 4x4 of the Decade, Four Wheeler magazine editor Doug McColloch said, "The JK (current version) Wrangler represented a big step up in on-road ride and handling for Jeep's flagship ride, yet it's off-road capability wasn't compromised in the least. If anything, it was only enhanced. Considering how competent in the dirt the previous-gen(eration) TJ was, that was no small feat for Chrysler engineers to pull off. But somehow they managed to do it, creating the decade's best four-wheel drive in the process."
In calling the 2007-present Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon the Most Significant SUV of the Decade, editor Sean Holman said, "(The decision to produce a four-door Wrangler) will probably go down in history as one of the smartest product moves any automotive company has ever made. From a Jeep customer perspective, the four-door was pure genius, opening up the sport of 'Jeeping' to families. No longer would you have to choose your kids or your gear. It also made the Jeep brand accessible to people who have always loved the idea of a Wrangler, but never thought the vehicles were large enough or functional enough to fit their lifestyle and/or needs."
The editors of Motor Trend today named the all-new 2010 Ram
2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickups the magazine's "2010 Truck of the Year®."
"To have our all-new 2010 Ram Heavy Duty named Truck of the Year® by the editors of Motor Trend really defines how great this new Ram Heavy Duty pickup is," said Fred Diaz, President and Chief Executive Officer-Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "The Motor Trend Truck of the Year® Award is like a standing ovation for the Chrysler Group designers, engineers and planners who developed this incredible Ram Heavy Duty Truck."
Motor Trend Truck of the Year® contenders are evaluated using six
criteria, which includes design advancement, engineering excellence,
intended function, efficiency, safety and value. To be eligible, a
vehicle must have been substantially changed from the previous model.
"The 2010 Ram Heavy Duty absolutely nailed the award in terms of our criteria, from the attractive exterior styling, to the plush and quiet
cabins, to the tough and capable powertrains, especially the impressive
Cummins diesel, which meets 50-state emissions standards without
needing expensive after-treatment technology," said Angus MacKenzie,
Editor-in-Chief, Motor Trend. "It delivers the capability heavy duty
truck users demand, with style and refinement they perhaps did not
expect."

2009 J.D. Power Reliability Award!!
To provide both auto industry and consumer audiences insights into the long-term reliability of today's new vehicles, the J.D. Power and Associates 2009 Vehicle Dependability StudySM (VDS) focuses on problems experienced by original owners of three-year-old vehicles.
(2006 model-year vehicles). The study is used extensively by the world's auto manufacturers to help design and build better vehicles--which typically retain higher resale values--and by consumers to help make more-informed choices for both new and used vehicles.
The 2009 Vehicle Dependability Study provides information gathered from over 46,000 original owners. Performance is measured using a "problems per 100 vehicles (PP100)" metric. A lower PP100 score indicates better performance and a higher PP100 score indicates worse performance. Among the 12 models in the Van segment, the Caravan/Grand Caravan achieves an index score of 153 PP100 (problems per 100 vehicles), compared to the segment average of 196 PP100--a difference of 43 PP100. The 2009 study covers a total of 202 total problems, broken out into eight major problem categories as follows:
