If you’ve been looking for a Ram dealer near Charlotte, you’ll find everything you’re looking for here at Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. The 2025 Ram lineup is worth considering because itā€™s not your average lineup, as there is a wide range of powerful trucks offering a variety of capabilities that are sure to tackle the challenges faced by many types of Charlotte drivers. Letā€™s discuss this yearā€™s lineup and help you decide which truck is right for you.

Returning Legends and Some Newcomers Enter the Ring

One glance at Ramā€™s 2025 lineup, and youā€™d be forgiven for thinking everything is the same. The usual suspects are here and better than ever, including the Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500. However, youā€™ll also notice fresh additions to the lineup, all sporting the 1500 title: the Ram 1500 RHO, Ramcharger, and REV. You may also notice two vehicles missing from the 2024 lineup.

The 2024 Ram 1500 TRX was the final hoorah for the powerful off-roading legend, but the RHO aims to pick up the pieces that the TRXā€™s absence would inevitably leave behind. Weā€™ll jump more into each model separately, but it shows how changes in a lineup donā€™t always come in the form of bombastic new releases with brand-new names and platforms. Instead, the RHO and REV are within the Ram 1500 family, and itā€™s great company given how popular the truck and its offshoots are.

The Ram 1500

The 2025 Ram 1500 is the same Ram 1500 truck we all know and love, but this yearā€™s model has some changes. Most notably, the 3.6L V6 MHEV engine remains standard, but the 5.7L V8 and supercharged 6.2L V8 engines dubbed Eagle and Hellcat, respectively, have been removed in favor of a turbocharged 3.0L I-6 engine named Hurricane. The Hurricane I-6 engine is available in regular and high-output configurations, the latter of which provides a decent replacement to the power previously on tap with the discontinued supercharged Hellcat V8 engine, and itā€™s greatly more fuel-efficient, too.

With the base engine, the 2025 Ram 1500 outputs 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, with maximum towing and payload capacities of 8,110 lbs and 2,370 lbs. Fuel efficiency is great with the base engine, earning EPA-estimated ratings of 20 MPG in the city, 26 MPG on the highway, and 23 MPG combined if you stick with the FWD modelā€”you’ll get 20 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway with the four-wheel driver option.

The Hurricane I-6 engine also pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission like the base V6 engine, and the regular variant outputs 420 hp and 469 lb-ft of torque. This 74% torque increase is a large reason why the towing capacity gets a healthy increase up to 11,550 lbsā€”a 42% increase over the base engine. The best part about the Hurricane engine is its constantly impressive fuel efficiency despite the power it pushes out, with EPA-estimated ratings of 18 MPG in the city, 25 MPG on the highway, and 21 MPG combined with RWD. The High-Output variant of the Hurricane engine outputs 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque and comes standard with 4WD, but impressively still achieves 21 MPG on the highway.

The 2025 Ram 1500 is sold with your choice between two truck beds. The smallest 2025 Ram 1500 bed measures 5.6 ft and flaunts 53.9 cu.ft. of space, placing it above the 2025 Ford F-150ā€™s smallest bed in both length and capacity. The optional bed for the 2025 Ram 1500 is 6.4 ft long and has a decent uptick in storage roomā€”up to 61.5 cu.ft. of space.

Something the 2025 Ram 1500 has that its pricier siblings donā€™t is a standard Uconnect 5 8.4-inch infotainment center with features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the 2025 Ram 1500 offers a 14.5-inch screen thatā€™s not available on the Ram 2500 or 3500.

The Ram 2500

The Ram 2500 returns for the 2025 model year and is ready to help hard workers tackle tough challenges at home and on the job site. Several differences separate the Ram 2500 from the Ram 1500, reflected by the higher price. Some of the immediate differences include the 6.4 ft bed serving as the smallest option instead of the largest. The largest bed for the 2025 Ram 2500 is 8.2 ft long, meaning heavy-duty Ram trucks can be far lengthier than Ram 1500 models.

The 2025 Ram 2500 comes standard with a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine called ā€œApache,ā€ which long-time Ram fans will recognize. The Apache V8 engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, ensuring a constant flow of tangible power and bolstering acceleration. Itā€™s hard not to enjoy driving the base Ram 2500 with its 410 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque, which also helps the heavy-duty truck achieve its maximum payload capacity of 4,000 lbs and plays a large role in achieving its towing capacity of 17,730 lbs.

The large leap in standard towing performance is one of the main reasons the Ram 2500 is a great place to look if youā€™re shopping for a professional-grade truck. With the turbo-diesel 6.7L I-6 engine, however, performance becomes even better. The turbo-diesel engine pairs with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and although horsepower doesnā€™t outshine the Apache V8 engine, its 850 lb-ft of torque is a 98% increase, and the towing capacity is increased to 19,990 lbs. Opt for the optional Towing Technology Group, and your Ram truck becomes the newest employee of your workplace, assisting in lining up trailers, alerting you of poor or clear blindspot coverage, power-heated mirrors, and more.

The Ram 3500

Most of the Ram 2500 and 3500ā€™s technological underpinnings are identical, including infotainment, comfort, convenience, bed size, and by extension, cargo space. However, what mostly differentiates the Ram 3500 from the 2500 is its towing performance. The 2025 Ram 3500 comes standard with the same 6.4L V8 Apache V8 engine as the Ram 2500 and offers the same 6.7L turbo-diesel I-6 engineā€”both output the same horsepower and torque as their respective Ram 2500 counterparts. However, towing and payload capacities are greatly improved.

With the Apache V8 engine, the base 2025 Ram 3500ā€™s towing capacity is 18,210 lbs. This is slightly more than what the Apache achieves in the Ram 2500, and it also has a payload capacity of 7,680 lbs. This is an astonishing payload capacity that even bests Chevyā€™s flagship Silverado 3500 HD.

With the 6.7L turbo-diesel I-6 engine installed, the 2025 Ram 3500ā€™s towing capacity is increased to 22,670 lbs. Although the 6.7L turbo-diesel engine already has a higher towing capacity in the Ram 3500 than whatā€™s possible in the 2500, the 2025 model has a high-output variant of the turbo-diesel engine thatā€™s not found in any other Ram truck. When installed under the hood, your truck outputs 420 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque, with a maximum towing capacity of 37,090 lbs, making it the best Ram truck for professionals.

The Ram 1500 Ramcharger

The Ram 1500 Ramcharger is brand-new, and itā€™s the first PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) Ram truck. As a PHEV, the truck uses a traditional gasoline-powered engine coupled with a large battery and electric motors. Unlike regular HEVs, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger has a port to plug the battery into a battery source instead of relying solely on hybrid features like regenerative braking to keep the battery running.

The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger uses a 3.6L V6 engine and a 92 kWh battery. Itā€™s a powerful truck with 663 hp, 615 lb-ft of torque, a 14,000 lb towing capacity, and 2,625 lb payload capacity. Itā€™s also an impressively fast truck, achieving 60 mph in only 4.4 seconds.

You can charge the battery with Level 1 through Level 3 charging ports and stations, with Level 3 ports giving you 50 miles of extra travel range exclusively through electricity in only 10 minutes. Charging the battery while on the go is still possible with the likes of One Pedal Driving and the Ramcharger Power Mode Selector includes economically friendly driving modes to reduce battery usage, including a Battery Hold Mode and Charge-Depleting Mode to keep your battery energized for longer.

Inside the 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, a 12-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment center is standard, but the 14.5-inch touchscreen is presented vertically, allowing for sufficient room to navigate menus, display onboard navigation, and use wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger also features an available 10.25-inch Passenger Interactive Displayā€”a large screen positioned above the glove box that allows for media consumption, which is perfect for passengers, whether itā€™s family, friends, or co-workers.

The Ram 1500 RHO

The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO takes the spot of the now-discontinued TRX as the off-roaderā€™s choice. With the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO, youā€™re treated with a standard dual exhaust system with 5-inch tips, and your truck sits atop durable 35-inch off-road tires. Mechanical improvements built to enhance off-road performance include standard Bilstein shocks, a rear electronic locking differential, and nine selectable drive modes ranging from Snow, Mud/Sand, and Rock to Baja, Tow, Sport, a dedicated valet mode, and more.

The suspension in the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is built specifically with off-roading in mind. The Ram 1500 RHO leverages the advantages of improved suspension travel, with 13 and 14 inches for the front and rear, respectively. Additionally, the Ram 1500 RHO has exceptional ground clearance, measuring 11.8 inches above the groundā€”perfect for off-roading activities. Wheel flare extensions are an integral part of the 2025 Ram 1500 RHOā€™s design, as the improved shielding in the wheel well helps keep the exterior looking clean and damage-free.

Like Ramā€™s other new truck, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, the Ram 1500 RHO comes with a 10.25-inch passenger screen, and an included 12-inch Driver Information Digital Cluster Display keeps the experience sleek and modern, with room to display information like oil health, navigation, tire pressure, and more, in addition to basics like fuel capacity, engine temperature, your speedometer, and more.

The Ram 1500 REV

The 2025 Ram 1500 REV is the last new Ram truck for the 2025 model year. What separates the Ram 1500 REV from the other trucks in the lineup is that you arenā€™t filling this one with gasoline but gaining all of its power and efficiency through electricity. The 2025 Ram 1500 REV boasts best-in-class towing and payload capacities, weighing in at 14,000 lbs and 2,625 lbs.
As BEVs lack traditional powertrains under the hood, the space is repurposed into whatā€™s known as a frunkā€”a combination of the words ā€˜frontā€™ and ā€˜trunk.ā€™ Regarding frunks in its class, the Ram 1500 REV is as good as it gets. Itā€™s made even better with the available onboard power panelā€”an amazing addition for tailgaters.

Although it runs on electricity, that doesnā€™t stop the Ram 1500 REVā€™s powertrain from providing classic pickup truck results in performance. It takes only 4.4 seconds to get from 0-60 mph, which are impressive results for a BEV. The 2025 Ram 1500 REV comes standard with a 168 kWh battery with dual motors, with an available 229 kWh battery providing up to 500 miles of travel range on a full charge. With the standard battery, youā€™ll travel upwards of 350 miles while outputting an excellent 654 hp and 620 lb-ft of torque. Also separating the Ram 1500 REV from some of its peers is an available Klipsch audio system with nearly two dozen speakers, while the Ram 1500 RHO uses a Harman Kardon speaker system.

2025 is Going to Be an Exciting Year for Ram

Itā€™s not every year that Ram adds three trucks to the lineup. Similarly, itā€™s not every year that Ram removes one or two models from their incredible pickup truck selection. The 2025 model year has marked a shift in how Ram trucks are presented, with the Ram 1500 serving as the foundation for many of this yearā€™s most innovative trucks.

Meanwhile, the Ram 2500 and 3500 are as great as theyā€™ve always been. Which truck should you buy? You should buy the pickup that matches your budget and gives you the performance, features, and cargo space you want.
