There are plenty of muscle cars out there that focus on performance so heavily that comfort and convenience become something of an afterthought. But that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice quality of life behind the wheel to get a powerful car. As your Chrysler dealer near Charlotte, we’re happy to let you know that you can have your cake and eat it too with the Chrysler 300. This full-size sedan is luxury muscle, pure and simple, delivering not just speed and style but luxury and a lush cabin that will bring your joy rides to the next level.

Let’s take a look at what the 2023 Chrysler 300 brings to the table. Because even the base trim has so much to offer, we’re going to focus mainly on the Touring trim, which is the most affordable option in the lineup. While upgrading to higher trims can get you extras like V8 engines, heated and ventilated seats, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, we want to make sure you know that you don’t have to go beyond the Touring to get an amazing car that’s both powerful and luxurious. No matter which trim you opt for, you’ll be able to navigate the Queen City feeling like bona fide royalty.

Raw Power at Your Disposal

When it comes to the “muscle” part of luxury muscle, the 300 isn’t messing around, even with the lower trim levels. The base engine, offered on the Touring and Touring L trims, is an award-winning 3.6L Pentastar V6 that produces up to 292 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to send the 300 zooming from a stand-still to 60 mph in just 6.3 seconds. The engine pairs with a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission that’s tuned to provide thrilling launches, responsive downshifts, and quick upshifts for a dynamic driving experience. The system is controlled with a rotary shifter that’s compact, elegant, and easy to use.

Unlike the V8 options, the V6 engine can be paired with either rear- or all-wheel drive. The exclusive AWD system provides extra traction, so you can stay in control during heavy summer downpours that make the roads extra slippery. But this system isn’t merely full-time AWD or a system that needs to be turned on or off by the driver: it’s a class-exclusive system that makes clever use of a front-axle disconnect that can engage at any speed without needing to lift a finger. The system automatically senses things like weather conditions, road surfaces, and driving styles, switching between RWD and AWD to give you extra traction when you need it and conserve fuel when you don’t.

Speaking of fuel, the V6 is also the most efficient option in the lineup. When paired with RWD, it provides an estimated 19 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway for a combined EPA rating of 23 MPG. Opting for AWD drops that figure down slightly to 21 MPG of combined driving. Even though the V8 engines can’t be paired with AWD, they still provide lower combined fuel economy figures: 19 MPG for the 5.7L engine and 18 MPG for the more powerful 6.4L engine.

While many drivers just use the 300’s power to make their time behind the wheel more fun and exciting, it can be put to more practical use as well. No matter which engine you choose, you can use the 300 to tow up to 1,000 lbs. Whether you’re an outdoorsy person with a camping trailer or boat or just like to have options available for your next move, that can be a handy thing to have at your disposal, and it’s not an easy trait to find in a sedan.

Top-Notch Performance and Handling

Having a lot of power is fun, but it takes more than power to provide great handling. A well-built car has systems to help you control that power so that you can drive with confidence at any speed. The 300 comes standard with several features that work behind the scenes to make sure that you’re fully in control of whatever lies in store. These include All-Speed Traction Control to make sure you have a good grip on the road, Electronic Roll Mitigation and Stability Control to keep you upright and steady, and speed-sensitive steering so you can go around curves predictably no matter how fast you’re going. If you have a trailer along for the right, the Trailer Sway Damping feature will keep it from pulling you off track.

High-End Luxury is Standard

You’ll get a comfortable cabin across the lineup with the Chrysler 300. Every trim level comes standard with a Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control system that lets you and your front passenger pick your ideal temperature and enjoy it for the entire ride, no matter how hot or cold the weather gets outside the car. The base Touring trim comes standard with an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat with 2-way power lumbar support, so you can get your position just right and avoid back pain on longer drives. Active head restraints keep your neck comfortable, even when you’re testing the acceleration power of the 300’s powerful engine.

The comfort of the cabin is enhanced by the Chrysler clean air filtration system, which comes standard across the board. This feature filters out 95% of particulates in the air, keeping dust, aerosols, and smoke at bay so you can breathe easy even in the busiest areas of downtown Charlotte. There’s also a standard humidity sensor to make sure that the air feels just right for you and your passengers, even during a humid southern summer.

Convenient Tech

The feeling of luxury goes hand in hand with convenience, so let’s take a look at some of the standard tech onboard the 300 that can make your life easier. The 8.4-inch touchscreen is intuitive and easy to see at a glance, so you can easily pull up music, navigation, and more. You can get these functions right from the apps you’re used to using on your smartphone, thanks to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, if you don’t want to rely on your phone for audio entertainment, you have other options, including SiriusXM satellite radio and HD Radio.

You also don’t need to rely fully on the touchscreen, which might not be the safest thing to use when you’re driving around busy I-485. The premium wrapped steering wheel has controls mounted on it that are easy to use without taking your eyes off the road. You can also use the integrated voice command system to simply tell the car what you want.
